Welcome to CD22 Watch

There are currently 8 (count 'em e-i-g-h-t)candidates running for the Congressional seat formerly held by the guy everybody now loves to hate, Tom Delay. Due to an unfortunate string of well-documented election calamities (which resulted in the GOP not having a named candidate on the ballot) liberal democrat and carpetbagger Nick Lampson wormed his way into the District and onto Washington. The conventional wisdom is that ol' slick Nick is a one-termer in this decidedly RED district. This site is devoted to helping keep track of the contendors, what they're saying, their records, and the local scuttlebutt circulating leading up to the March 2008 primary and the likely run off election to follow. Feel free to join in the discussion and pass along any intel. This should be a fun one to follow.

Thanks for creating this blog.
This isn't Liz Mitton is it? Bev Carter sure seems to think so. How about your tell us who you are? Be PROUD to voice your opinion. Its the American Right and Way.

Is this an impartial blog or are you supporting one candidate over another? I noticed that all the candidates are in alphabetical order on your main page with the exception of Dean Hrbacek. He didn't announce first. So I'm assuming you are backing Dean?

Jake -- We can't help the delusional rantings of Bev Carter who was just about drummed out of the Republican Party and now aligns herself openly with the most liberal dems around.

We like being anonymous -- keep folks guessing. Just about every political blog on the web is anonymous -- so nice try.

We're not supporting any candidate yet -- still too early. We just call 'em as we see 'em. Re the candidate list.... uhhhhh... they are in alpha order by last name (always have been). Was it that hard to figure that out?

My bad! They ARE in alpha order. Did you switch em on me when I wasn't looking? ;-)

There were actually NINE candidates. I attended the Fort Bend Chamber forum and personally counted them. There is a new guy, Brian Klock. BUT, having said that, Alan Steinberg (who had a great showing at the Forum and should be commended for his efforts), has thrown in the towel so we are back to 8. He is now backing Pete Olson.

And you CAN help the "delusional" rantings as you put it. If you don't agree with Bev, don't support her paper: Don't advertise in it, don't read it, don't buy products advertised in it, etc...

Merry Christmas.

Poor poor bev...

She is the self-appointed "Queen of Fort Bend". All knowing, all seeing, etc.

What a joke.

Congratulations to Pete Olson and Shelley Sekula-Gibbs. Pete beat Shelley in Fort Bend but she won overall.
Either way, its going to be a good runoff. PLEASE everyone participate, BUT know your candidate first. Do some research, what the upcoming debates.
